Just to keep track of all the diving gear I have bought. Please don't add them up.

  1. Regulator + First Stage

    • Why this: I wanted a balanced regulator, and MK25 EVO was in most of the list of top regulators. First stage wise, I had the option of A700 or S620. I got the S620 since reviews say it is smaller. 
  2. Octopus / Second Stage

    • Why this: Ideally, the second stage should be the same brand as the regulator/first stage. So I needed a scubapro octopus. One of the first to show up when I googled. That simple. Haha.  
  3. SPG
    • Actual:JPY14,040

    • Why this: I was told anything will do. In this case, I wanted one with a built in compass, preferably with the dial thingy.
  4. BCD
    • Actual:JPY59,420 but now it's JPY10,000 cheaper. T.T

    • Why this: Consistently at the top of the list. The recommendation is get the wing/hybrid, but my divemaster in a liveaboard commented that he doesn't want wings coz he wants to be able to rid himself of all the gear in case something happens (I think he either had something catch on fire underwater or hear about it), and I figured, yeah, decent point. Jacket it is.  
  5. Mask

    • Why this: Pretty good reviews for Cressi SF1, and I wanted a frameless one because I felt like the frame blocks the view. In hindsight, I think a bright colored one is better to be easily identifiable.  
  6. Wetsuit - 5mm

    • Why this: A friend recommended this due to the loooooong zippers. 
  7. Fins
    • Actual: JPY22,000

    • Why this: A friend recommended this, and is also in the top list of everything online. 
  8. Booties - 5mm

    • Why this: I got scubapro booties mainly for the thick bottom. Basically shoes. 
  9. Dive Light

    • Why this: I am doing night dives, so dive lights are definitely a requirement.

    • Why buy this: Regulators are.... bulky. And expensive. And so they need to be stored properly. Any right size bag will do. 
  4. Diving Bag (Mesh)

    • Why buy this: Gear gets really wet and I need a bag to put things when they are soaking, dripping wet. Most dive places will give you a place to store your gear while diving (e.g. when on a boat), but just in case they don't.

  9. Mask strap cover

    • Why this: I got local ones. I wanted to cover the strap of my mask coz it keeps getting tangled in my hair. 
  10. Wetsuit - 3mm

    • Why this: I got local ones. Because I'm diving in the Philippines, I got a 3mm wetsuit. Little did I know that rashguards would be good enough.
