(弥山) Mt. Misen Hike

A sacred mountain that has history that dates back a thousand years, Mt. Misen is the most beautiful mountain in the entirety of Japan, as far as my accommodation's host is concerned.

I'd say he's biased. Haha.

We did this hike as part of a Hiroshima Weekend, where we spent the Saturday morning visiting Hiroshima Peace Park, Saturday afternoon looking at Itsukushima Shrine's iconic torii, and Sunday doing Mt. Misen hike.

Train, Hiroshima Station to Miyamaguchi Station (JPY420, 28 mins one way)
Ferry, Miyamaguchi to Miyajima Port. (JPY180, 10 minutes one way).

Paid. None. Though we did not stay in a mountain, we stayed in a hostel here.

Itinerary

11:10am. Start hiking. We decided not to use the ropeway.
12:25pm. Arrived at the summit. We noticed that we have merged with the path for those using the ropeway because it got SO crowded. There's a viewing hut with seats and a rooftop at the top where you can see the surrounding islands. We took plenty of pictures and sat down for lunch.
02:45pm. Arrived at a shrine at the end of the trail, took some more pictures, and in 15 minutes were at the big torii where we went for a stroll, and basically killed time until we had to go back to the city for our bus back to Tokyo.
