Special Notes
- Weather forecast. English / Japanese. English more detailed, Japanese more accurate.
- Trailheads. Definitely not accessible without a car, but here's the convoluted public transportation for those who have the time. Of all the trailheads, the best one I think is taking a car to Tayorigashima (便ヶ島), camping at the trailhead and doing two dayhikes with Mt. Tekari.
- Numahira (沼平). About 1.5kms from Hatanagi dam, which is a part of Mt. Akaishi's hike. I'll link Mt. Akaishi's blog post later on.
- Tayorigashima (便ヶ島). Google maps pin here. A trailhead shared with Mt. Tekari (光岳) with a camping spot, but no public access. A taxi can be taken from Hiraoka Station (平岡駅), which will cost around JPY14,000 one way.
- Mountain huts.
Friday
- Drive to Tayorigashima (便ヶ島) and camp for the night.
- 04:00am. Start hike.
- 11:05am. Summit Mt. Hijiri
- 03:45pm. Back at trailhead. Drive back.
