(塩見岳) Mt. Shiomi Hike

塩 means salt, and 見 means seeing. So this mountain means... Seeing Salt? Salt View? Either way, wikipedia has failed me on the history of this hike, but here's the logistics as far as I can see.

Budget: JPY41,000 (~USD250)
  • JPY26,000. Mountain bus, Tokyo to Torikura-tozanguchi
  • JPY15,000. Mountain hut (I could only reserve the private one, which has +3,000 premium, +1,000 premium for weekend)
Hike Date / Difficulty (Elevation: 3,052m / 10,013ft)
  • Target: 2021
  • Difficulty: 5 out of 5
  • Route below is around 23.8kilometers, with an elevation change of ▲2,506m/ ▽2,521m

When to Go
Anytime during the year - but prepare for full on winter hike, and most of them used 鳥倉登山口 as trailhead. One log here. Also, part of the trail that can be driven during summer is closed in winter, and that adds a couple of kilometers walk (in snow).
